Case Management helps you connect to mental health and addiction support at UVM or within the Burlington community.

Your case manager will work with you to find the best ways to your needs. Case management is not an ongoing therapeutic counseling service. Instead, it can help you access longer term services in Burlington and the surrounding community.

How it works:

  • Connect with your case manager in over the phone, in-person, virtually, or through secure messenger to talk about what you’re looking for in a counselor, what you want to work on in counseling, and any past experiences you might have had in counseling. Your case manager will also ask you about your transportation options, insurance, and your schedule.
  • Within two business days your case manager will give you a list of clinicians and resources that might meet your needs.
  • You connect with the resources. If they work out, great! If they don’t, your case manager can look into additional providers and resources. Your case manager will work with you until you make a connection in the community that works for you.

Your case manager will continue to check in with you until you are settled into a routine with a clinician or service you like. Remember that you can keep taking part in Counseling and Psychiatry Services groups and workshops when you’re seeing a clinician off-campus.
