​Join Adam Boothe, Assistant Director for Integration and our career coaches to walk through handling common and sticky career questions that come up during advising sessions - how to field them and keep your students on track toward career success without needing to become a career counselor. 

Integrating career prep in academic programs: Strategic thinking for unit leaders

Students do not need to create a resume in every class every semester, but they do need progressive career prep touchpoints throughout their time in your program/school.  Whether you are a leader in title (e.g., Dean, Director, Department Chair) or just in practice (we see you), join Director Heath to discuss your plans for purposeful integration of career skill-building and how the career center can support your vision.

IIb. Articulating the intrinsic value of a liberal arts degree: Employers and educators are largely in agreement about the value of a liberal arts degree—provided it is described using language that is common and accessible to both stakeholder groups - AAC&U. (Chittenden)

  • Review CAS and NACE competencies as language that span this gap
  • Discuss: teaching students to be well versed in this language
