Are you graduating this year and have a business idea that you want to launch, or coming into UVM with one that’s already percolating and wanting to learn about pitches now so you're ready in a few years?

No matter what year you are in at UVM as an undergraduate, mark your calendars for the Joy and Jerry Meyers Cup! This new annual business launch competition will fund the businesses of undergraduate entrepreneurs at UVM over the next 10 years. The grand prize winner each year will receive $212,500 in cash plus in-kind services from business partners to start their business!

While application submissions are open to graduating UVM undergraduates, students with a business idea or entrepreneurial mindset can become involved at any stage and can join a development workshop on October 18 leading up to the final application deadline in January.

The competition offers on-going opportunities for entrants to develop mentorship relationships with community partners and improve pitches. Each application draft submission is an opportunity to receive feedback from the event community partners. Competitors are encouraged to take advantage of all opportunities to engage with the community partners to deliver the best final presentation. Community partners will review and send feedback following each application draft submission.
